  • Infest

Well it's August Bank Holiday Weekend and here I am in sunny Bradford, naturally earning cash and watching all the prettiness here at Infest 2008. :D

Well it all began at 8pm last night (Friday 22nd), I was put on cloakroom so if I needed to run off on a First Aid shout I was somewhere relatively easy to ditch. Luckily last night was incident free, at least for the patrons. :-/

There were so many pretty coats given to me for safe keeping, I wanted to bring half of them home. Fluffy ones, Leather ones, all sorts of other ones, I was even given an Ewok to look after. And while it was quiet I got to watch all the amazing outfits that people were wearing.

There were a few people in pvc, one girl who had a lovely little white pvc dress with red hearts on it, gotta be said when she took off her cardigan when she first got in many people were staring (me included), she looked fantastic. But not everyone has the body for pvc so I wasn't gonna ask where she got it from.

There were quite a few people with fluff boot covers ranging from plain block colour through stripy two tone and on into multicoloured uber stripy. I have decided that I definitely got to make myself a pair of those, so I'm off to buy faux fur stuff later.:D:D

Most of the music last night was on the main dance floor but at about midnight when the last band of the night had finished their set the DJ's split so there was different stuff going on everywhere. It made such a change being in the cloakroom and not having to listen to some noise that is apparently called R&B. I now have a load of Artists to look up cos some of the stuff that played had me dancing round so much that I kept knocking empty coat hangers of the rails. It was quite amusing.:)

At the end of the night after everything was cleaned and ready for today, we sat and had a drink.

Andrew managed to persuade me not only to do a Radio show on my own next term but to do a second specialised show. But that's a blog for another time.

By 4.30am most of the staff had gone home for the night but a small group of us stayed for another drink. By 6am there was only Carl, Tom (Woman), Gareth, Mike and myself, and we decided it was time to go home and get ready for Infest day 2. I'll let you know how that goes later.

  • Old Wives Tales

I've just watched this documentary about a woman who was pregnant for 46 years. The baby had been growing in the abdominal cavity around the womb. When the baby died she thought she was having contractions, and when they stopped she decided that the baby had gone to "sleep" and would wake up when it was ready. Who would beleve that their baby had gone to sleep during labour and would wake up when later??? And what makes it why would you wait 46 years to get anything done about it???
